These heavy duty pasture toppers are all shaft drive with an increased work rate and excellent performance. The high tip speed of the blades gives the machine the ability to cut through set-aside or thick vegetation up to one and a half inches (35mm) with ease, but it can also leave an excellent finish in paddocks and open grass areas.
The central splitter gear box is joined by splined shafts and rubber drive couplings to satellite rotor boxes which are totally oil bathed which directly drive the blades.
Because of this positive drive, the blades are timed at 90° to each other which means that there is an overlap of 75-100mm to eliminate the central strip of uncut grass that a belt driven machine would leave.
They counter rotate and therefore give a natural rear discharge which spreads the vegetation evenly. A floating headstock allows the machine to follow the contours of the ground, the height of cut is easily adjustable by moving the bolts on the side skids and ranges from 25mm-150mm. Stone guards are standard on all the machines.
Power required is as little as 30hp for a 7ft machine, and the high tip speed means that the blade tips will not falter or slow down when the going gets tough.
The CUTLASS topper is available in 7ft (2.2m) 8ft (2.4m) and 9ft (2.7m).
It can also have offset brackets to make a semi-permanent semi-offset machine, or the ultimate choice is a 9ft HVO, a hydraulic variable-offset machine that, with the help of a hydraulic ram, maneuvers the machine to the offset position from the tractor seat.
This gives the ultimate versatility of being able to keep it in line for gateways or road work, but the advantages of an offset machine to eliminate wheel marks when in work. Another alternative is castor wheels, more maneuverable for front mounting, also easier for fine turf work. The CUTLASS Rollamo machine is also a derivative (CUTLASS Rollamo) and comes with either a single rear roller or twin rollers front and back for the ultimate in fine finish.
Available in 3 widths - 7ft (2.2m), 8ft (2.4m) and 9ft (2.7m).
